On Thin Ice

Yesterday I did something that I have been wanting to do for a very long time. I went ICE SKATING! My friend April and I got together and the 2 of us ventured out and participated in this amazing sport! How did ice skating even get invented? What crazy person thought to attach a butter knife to the bottom of their shoe and slide across a frozen piece of water? Well, whomever it was, I would like to pat them on the back and thank them for providing us with a day of entertainment!

A little uneasy at first! I had to go very slow!

These things are huge and by no means comfortable. Such an awkward feeling!

April was so much more graceful than I was. She didn't fall once! She even showed me a few pointers. I was glad to learn even the basics.

This is how you turn and make it look good.

I'm up and moving on the ice, that's all I can ask for!

Look at me getting more daring!
(Just after this I crashed hard onto the ice. I am feeling the effects of it today.)

Thank you April for coming with me! We had such a good time!

Last Thanksgiving when we went to visit Angie in Cheyenne, we went ice skating. It is soooo much harder than it looks. Bobby, who can do pretty much everything, just couldnt do it. They made him skate with the orange street cone and he still couldnt get it. He was so mad. It was fun, though.

You are the hippest ice skater I have ever seen. Nice job adventuring out there.

I love {the idea of} ice skating. I wish I had stronger ankles. I was just telling Piper that as soon as her cold is better we would go ice skating. She told me today that her nose feels better :)

I was thinking white ice skates when you told me you bought them. I like this color! Are you going to go back? I want to see a
flying camel and a sit spin before the year is up.

Amy, this was fun! Thanks for the link to my blog. I like to always do that too but totally forgot I didn't link you. I've done it now. I thought you were more graceful than me even though you fell. You only fell because you were trying new things. I was impressed you could do so much after not skating for so long. Hope you find your ice skates soon!

did you remember what I told you about make-up sponges? Next time you should go with me, that way you will look like Dorothy Hammil (sp?) next to my skating skills
