Birthday Galore!

My sweet hubby had his 29th B-Day yesterday! Happy birthday to him! May is a very busy month for our family as far as birthdays go. There seems to be one every other day! Makes you wonder what is so special about the month of August? The celebrating began on Sunday the 19th. My dear father's birthday is on the 20th so he and Wes always celebrate together. It started with a delicious meal (as always), then progressed to a highly competitive game of bean bag tossing in the back yard and then donning the king's of the day with Isabelle's handmade crowns as we ate cake and ice cream! Check out more pictures on my mom's blog! On Wes' actual birthday, he unfortunately had to attend his HAZMAT class all day so we were only able to celebrate that evening. We met our friends Andrew and Holly downtown at Benihana and ate more sushi than we could handle! We actually had the whole restaurant celebrating with us and before we knew it, we were conversing from table to table and sharing stories of love, business and our passion for American Idol! We had such a good time! Happy Birthday to 2 of the 3 most marvelous men in my life (Emerson being the 3rd, if you didn't get that)!

Now, I guess I better show you all how this game is done!

1 out of 3...not too bad on your birthday!

Turning 1 year older is a piece of cake!

Holly and Andrew are hot as wasabi!

Shake it like a polaroid picture! Good times everyone...good times!

Happy B-Day to Me!

Wes had asked me for weeks what I wanted to do for my special day. I don't like making itineraries or plans for events such as this. If I have expectations, I usually get let down since I am a "tad bit" particular of how things should be. I just like to fly by the seat of my pants! (This is how we like to vacation as well and we have never been disappointed!) My day consisted of opening my presents and the sweetest card from Wes (He did good!), breakfast at the infamous Blue Plate Diner, attending Art Market at Sugarhouse Park where my sister had some of her work for sale, and then Wes gave me the best present ever...a day of endless shopping! AND, at the end of it all, he made me the most delicious meal and then took me to the Cheesecake Factory for dessert. What a man! It was a splendid birthday! It actually extended into the weekend because the following day, he took Emerson for a boy's day out so that I could head on down to Provo to check out the work of the Beehive Bazaar ladies. I really look forward to this event twice a year so it was especially nice that it was happening on my B-day...what a treat! My house is filled with Beehive treasures and it was my sister and these fine and talented ladies who helped fill Emerson's room with handmade goods! On Sunday, we celebrated my B-Day and my amazing Mother for her special day. My dad made a delicious meal for us and we opened more great presents. I am not a fan of cake so my sister made individual molten lava cakes. Not a good idea for those watching their figure...these things are decadent! It was a great birthday weekend and it is so nice to have such wonderful people in my life to celebrate it with!

The Heavens Opened, The Clouds Parted and Colett had a B-Day

April 28, 2008
Sometimes I wonder when I say my prayers at night if they are able to break through past the bedroom ceiling and make it into heaven. Well, apparently the heavens were open last week! Not too long after my last angry blog entry, I received a phone call from an old co-worker who has started her own Interior Design/Styling business and asked if I would come and work for her. I spent 3 days last week decorating a new children's furniture store that just opened up in Sugarhouse. It was so nice to be able to do what I love and make a few needed bucks in doing so. I had a lot of fun! She allows my schedule to be flexible and I am able to work when Wes is off and can stay with Emerson. It is a great set up and I am so excited for the opportunity

Hallelujah! I cannot even begin to explain the anger I was having towards the snow and cold winds....in MAY! I was so sick and tired of it! Finally the weather was nice once again and we spent the day downtown and at Temple Square enjoying it. The flowers are planted and blooming in all their glory. Spring is a time of renewal and new life and that is exactly how I feel about Temple Square...it makes me feel like I have been renewed. Ahhhhhhh!

It was my big sister's birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY COLETT! We celebrated at my parent's house and my dad made her favorite meal, I made her a birthday cake and she opened some pretty sweet presents! I bought her an Amy Butler dress pattern...she has never made anything from a pattern before so we are going to have to plan a craft day and do it together. It will be very cute on her and I am excited to see her put her sewing skills to use. She is one of the most talented woman I know and I am so lucky to have her as the best sister in the whole world but as my best friend as well! She is beautiful in every way! Hope your B-Day was a good one Beast Face Rocket Rider!
