Making Faces

The other day I was sitting down with Emerson and playing with some of his toys. He has a metal book that when open, it display's some blank faces that you can decorate with magnetic facial features. As I was placing the pieces down, Emerson would yell out who he apparently thought they looked like.
Oh dear.

Uncle Matt.
O.K. I will give the kid a little credit for this one. There is SOME resemblance here with the facial hair.

Grandma Roxanne.
I am so sorry dear Mother in Law! Maybe it's the heart prison tat on the shoulder, I don't know.

Daddy.
Nailed it!

Mommy
It's like looking in a mirror - unibrow and all!

Thank you Emerson for constantly making me laugh! You are one funny little guy and I love you!

What are you?

I have finally gotten around to hanging up a sign that I had made back in November. I knew that when I was making it that I really liked it, but I didn't know that after hanging it up on the wall and passing by it several times a day that I would really begin to love it. I realize that the aesthetics of it may not be for everyone. It's a bit rugged since it is made from old fence posts and stencils I bought at Home Depot. But I do think the message is one that can speak to everyone. It is a quote from Abraham Lincoln. This quote has made me stop and think more than any other. So I had to ask myself,
"What am I"?

1. a wife
2. a mother
3. a daughter
4. a sister
5. an employee
6. a Mormon
7. a neighbor
8. a crafter
9. a homemaker
10. a friend

Now, as far as being good at any of them or all of them? Well....the jury is still out on this one! There are of course things I need to work on but I hope I am on the right track!

What are you favorite quotes?
What roles in life do you think you need to work on?

If any of you want to check out the inspiration and and are maybe thinking about making your own sign, go here!

Resolve To Be Me!

Every year when the clock strikes 12:00 a.m. to ring in the new year, I try to make a simple resolution or two. I have been extremely good in some cases (i.e. no caffeine for a whole year!) and very bad in others, (i.e. photo journal)! This year I vowed not to make resolutions that are to be kept all year long, but rather place myself in events or circumstances that will still leave me with a sense of accomplishment. Things that I have longed to do for quite sometime but have not pushed myself to do. I like a good challenge just as much as the next person, but I'm not about to torture myself. They say that if you write down your goals, you are more likely to keep them. Here they are and not only am I going to try to accomplish all of them, I will write about my adventures in doing so! Here is to a great 2010 and best wishes on your own resolutions and clearing off the slate!
