Wrapping up May

For my birthday, Wes surprised me with a trip to San Diego! We leave in 2 days and I am so excited I can hardly stand it! I haven't been there since I was about 8 years old, so I have no idea what there is to do there. We are hitting the standard tourist traps: Sea World, San Diego Zoo and Animal Kingdom. I think I will have seen enough species of surf and turf in the upcoming 6 days to last me a lifetime! Here is my question for you: Is anyone very familiar with this city and can offer any advise on what to do or see while we are there? We will be staying in Coronado but can easily drive wherever we need or want. Remember, we have a little one coming with us so no romantic rendezvous are in order!

Also, just as a side note....
I am always anxious to see what arrives in the mail around the days of our birthdays. We usually get a card from our dentist or a near by ice cream shop letting us know that we are entitled to a free cone. And if we are really lucky, I loved one remembered to drop us a note and brighten our day.  This year was a wee bit different!
I got these:
A free dinner at Tucanos. All you can eat meat accompanied by a carafe of Brazilian limeaide - Be still my beating heart! And I also received the most beautifully packaged Anthropologie coupon I have ever seen! A whopping 15% off! I might just be able to finally afford that lip balm I've been eyeing!

........While Wes got this (hehehehehe!):
Nothing says "Welcome to your thirties" like an invite from Miracle Ear!

Happy Birthday Wes!

Happy Birthday, My Love!

Today is my sweet husband special day! He turns the big 3-0 today! When I asked him what he would like to do for his birthday he said "Work in the yard!" This just goes to show that he is one of the hardest working men I know. He is a wonderful husband and father! He is also one of the few people I could be with every minute of every day and never get sick of. That is how I knew that I wanted to marry him...regardless of the fact that he is 3 years younger than me! He has so many great qualities and here are just a few:
1. He is a great cook
2. He is hilarious
3. He is humble
4. If you get to be friends with him, he will be your devoted and trusted friend for life!
5. He is crazy head-over heals about his little boy
6. He is not vain or materialistic
7. He is a handyman and can fix most things around the house
8. He loathes gossip and never says a bad word about anyone, not even when I want him to!
9. He is not a social chameleon. He is always his true self and doesn't conform to who or what's around him.
10. He is a simple man. He would be content with 2 t-shirts and 1 pair of jeans for the rest of his life.

Happy Birthday Daddy!

May is a very busy month for my family. We get to celebrate someone's birthday every few days! Today is my daddy's special day! Happy birthday to the most amazing man I know! How thankful I am to have such a loving, generous, and kind father! He is a great example to me and a wonderful grandpa to my little guy!  I love you, I love you, I love you!

Let's Talk Turkey

There have been several occasions when I have been talking to Wes and the conversation turns to "Did you see on our blog that..." or "Did you like the picture on our blog where..." or better yet, "This will be a fun post on our blog"! Only, every time Wes will correct me in mid-sentence and say, "YOUR blog, not OUR blog!" He seems to think that THE blog mainly revolves around just my life and happenings and every once in awhile, I decide to include him and he gets to make a cameo appearance on it. Where would he get a silly idea like that?
I guess OUR blog really is due for a post on what Wes has been doing.

Last week he had the opportunity to visit his cousin in Cedar City and go wild turkey hunting. With a handgun.
Yep.

They were successful.

Have a little Wes with your turkey!

I really am proud of him and his neck that bears shades of crimson! I find it quite endearing! He just loves being in the outdoors and I know it brings him so much happiness! He is such a busy, hardworking man so he rarely is able to get out and enjoy himself. I'm glad he got the chance to get away for a little while and I know he wishes he could do more hobbies and activities that he enjoys. Just know that I draw the line at having dead animals hang on my wall! I will keep my neck pasty white, thank you very much!
